Kevin Smith Wants Warner Bros. To Release Zack Snyder’s Allegedly ‘Darker’ Version Of ‘Justice League’

The existence of a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League is still up in the air. Fans are petitioning to see it, but reports indicate that it doesn’t exist or likely will never be in a finished product. That hasn’t stopped numerous leaks, unverified reports, and Kevin Smith from talking about it. How Kevin Smith Inspired Thor: Ragnarok’s Comedic Approach

How Kevin Smith Inspired Thor: Ragnarok’s Comedic Approach

Chris Hemsworth is crediting criticisms lobbied against the MCU’s Thor sub-franchise by filmmaker Kevin Smith for inspiring Thor: Ragnarok’s wholly different approach. The previous two solo outings for the God of Thunder fared well at the box office and earned generally positive reviews, but many are in agreement that they do not rank among the best of what Marvel has to offer. The Dark World can actually make a case for being the property’s “worst,” as its Rotten Tomatoes score of 66 percent ranks as the lowest of the 17 movies theatrically released to date. Everyone was in agreement that if Thor’s trilogy was to end on a high note, some changes would have to be implemented...

KEVIN SMITH AND NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON DISCUSS HOW SCIENCE CHANGED THE WORLD OF COMICS ON STARTALK (EXCLUSIVE)

Neil deGrasse Tyson certainly knows a lot about a lot, but he’d be the first to tell you there’s far more that he doesn’t know. That includes how comic books became socially acceptable for adults to read. To find out, StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson‘s big-brained host invited Kevin Smith to the show this week to talk about what brought about the newfound mainstream popularity of comics. Turns out, and fittingly so, that the answer has a lot to do with Marvel embracing the wonders of science...

Todd McFarlane talks 'Spawn' movie reboot and teaming with Kevin Smith on 'Sam & Twitch' series

You can’t keep a good hell-spawn down. Twenty years after Todd McFarlane loaned his signature creation, Spawn, to New Line Cinema for a poorly received live-action feature, the writer/artist/toy impresario is moving forward with plans for an all-new movie, this time under his own creative control. McFarlane is teaming with Jason Blum — an expert in making and marketing budget-conscious horror movies, as this weekend’s chart-topping hit, Happy Death Day, proved once again — for a Spawn reboot that he’s writing and directing. When Yahoo Entertainment caught up with McFarlane at this year’s New York Comic Con, he revealed how the success of R-rated horror movies like It has made him bullish on Spawn‘s commercial prospects, and why he’s using Jacob’s Ladder as one model for his directorial debut...
